Religion: the belief in and worship of a superhuman controlling power, especially a personal God or gods.If you've been reading my blog, you know that I am pretty outspoken about my religion. I was raised Christian my whole life and because of the answers I have discovered due to my own reasoning & questioning, I am very firm in it. I have no doubt that life on planet earth didn't begin by a spontaneous burst in outer space that has never been recorded to have happened again since. I am 100 and 10% positive that there is a God (just one) who has always existed and will always exist. I believe that He is omnipotent, omnipresent, all-knowing, and eternal.
I believe God has invented the idea of a beginning and an end (time), but before He invented time- there was no need for it because He simply just existed. I think for God, just existing is like living and breathing (like we do on a daily basis) except there is no need for sleep, days, minutes, hours, or seconds. He is the only one who existed. In creating us, God intended us to have free-will because from the beginning of humanity, he wanted to have a relationship with us. Because of this free-will, we have the freedom to form our own beliefs and opinions which means we also have the freedom to separate ourselves from God and consequently- Heaven.
I don't believe that all roads lead to heaven. I know for a fact that Islam does not agree with this, Judaism, and neither does Christianity. As a matter of fact, that belief contradicts the doctrine of many of the very beliefs it incorporates. I believe the contrary: There is only one way to heaven, and that is through Jesus Christ. However, I believe whole-heartily that God is a God of love and He loves his creation unconditionally (as stated in the bible a bazillion times "For God so loved the world... John 3:16 etc., etc.,) so he is not angrily damning people to Hell, but people are choosing to live a life without Him. Being a God of free will, when you do that- unfortunately the only place to go when you die that still allows you to exist separately from God is Hell.
As far as "morals" go.... I don't think they can truly exist without the bible. We may have a set of rules as a society that we like to abide by because of the whole "Treat others the way you want to be treated" principal, but men are born sinful. Which means we are always going to hurt each other as a result of our own selfish desires in some way. When you remove God from your life, it's rather easy to ignore the rules because there is no authority over you, and you have nothing to fear except man and death.
I believe that Satan is real and he exists. He is the source of all evil, conflict, and bad things. He believes that he is better than God (much like a teenager believes he knows better than his parents) and seeks to build a sort of army against God. He offers temporary happiness by promoting deviation from God and actively controlling every aspect of your life without acknowledging, communicating with, and respecting God and His commands. The truth is, even in the "free" life Satan promotes; You are actually enslaved to a life of constant emotional highs and lows. I don't believe it is possible to live a genuinely happy life without God. That's NOT because God is a genie and grants your every wish- but because God is love and love is happiness.
I can't go as in depth as I'd like for the sake of word count, BUT if anyone has any questions, statements, or recommendations for a future topic to blog about, drop them in the comments!
